Adding a Bitpart Prop into a Level

If you're looking to add a Bitpart prop into your level, it's super easy to do so.

Find the archetype pack you're looking to use and navigate to Props → Blueprints. Then just drag and drop the prop onto the map.

Snapping a Prop onto a Smart Object Slot

When creating Smart Object slots (something you can learn about here if you'd like) props require a put down slot if you want the ability to place them on another surface. In instances where you want to adjust a prop to sit on it's put down slot, you can easily snap it into place.

  1. Find the name of the slot you want to use on the surface. You can do so either by clicking on the actor in the level OR opening the surface's Smart Object definition. Note (or copy) the name of the slot.

  2. Click on the prop you want to snap into place in the level. Under Details → Bitpart Prop component → Bitpart → Initial Surface Actor, find the surface in the drop down or use the dropper. Then under Initial Surface Slot Name write in the name exactly as it appeared on the slot.

  3. Click out of the prop. The click on it again (making sure that you've not selected just the static mesh). Pull the prop slightly in any direction and then let go. It will snap onto the slot you specified.
